A little about honey

Hello, our dear buyers!

Let's talk about honey at first.))

Honey is gathered from a nectar of many different flower plants. There are over 300 different flower species that considered honey flowers. The working bees pollenate these different flowers and using their saliva to turn the part of a cane sugar into a grape sugar - the main component of honey, this liquid than deposited into the cells inside a beehive which are sealed with wax. Once the water has evaporated from these deposits the bees release a little formic acid from its poisonous sac into the honey (to prevent honey from fermenting). It takes thousands upon thousands of trips for each bee to collect enough nectar to build and fill the comb. The final product that we all love; Honey is very unique, every time we buy it at the store or produce it ourselves. In as many different regions the working bees collect the nectar, from as many different honey flowers, there are just as many variable factors that contribute to the honey’s sweetness, potency, color, taste, form, etc.

Honey is considered by many to be the superfood that contributes greatly to once longevity, more so to a healthy living. One of many interesting facts in connection to honey. A few decades ago, researchers had analyzed a number of censuses that were performed in different countries and had identified that people working as beekeepers and their family members lived longer.

Another interesting fact about honey it is a great preservative. The body of Alexander the Great was actually submerged into a tub full of honey to make the trip to a burial ground from Babylon to Egypt.
