How to store honey at home?
Steps for storing honey at home:
Choose a clean, dry and airtight container: Glass jars or plastic containers are good options. Avoid using metal containers as honey can react with metal and cause the honey to spoil.
Store in a cool, dry place: Avoid direct sunlight and excessive heat. Honey can crystallize and change its flavor and color if exposed to too much heat. A pantry or a cupboard away from the stove or oven are good options.
Keep the lid tight: Keeping the lid tightly closed will prevent air and moisture from entering and will help maintain the quality of the honey.
Avoid dipping spoons or other utensils into the jar: Doing so can introduce bacteria and moisture into the jar, causing spoilage. Instead, use a clean, dry spoon to measure out the honey.
Store for long-term use: Honey can be stored for years if it is kept in a cool and dry place. The natural sugar content and low moisture content of honey helps to preserve it.
Note: If the honey crystallizes, it is still safe to eat. Simply place the jar in warm water until the crystals dissolve. Do not boil or microwave the honey as this can change its flavor and quality.
